We are the go to resource for harnessing digital tools and capabilities to improve the lives of low-income and vulnerable New Yorkers. As part of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Operations, the Accelerator + Connect unit uses policy, management and technical expertise to help produce better outcomes for residents.

The Enterprise Data Solutions Team takes innovative approaches to linking data in a meaningful way to help inform decision making by City-wide stakeholder groups, including leadership, agencies, providers and clients. EDS views data as a protected asset that can be responsibly leveraged across digital products to support analytical initiatives, facilitate knowledge sharing, and develop business strategy.


  Our Work

The unit currently operates HHS Accelerator, Worker Connect, and ACCESS NYC, and is actively working on new initiatives. Together, these initiatives break information silos through the use of modernized technology and coordinated agency practices to more efficiently and effectively provide health and human services to New Yorkers. The Enterprise Data Solutions Team is responsible for managing the strategic planning and support of data integration initiatives, overseeing and implementing data management, requirements development, and reporting for existing products as well as new data integration and analytics projects.

We are currently seeking an Assistant Director to perform data analysis, profiling, modeling, source-to-target mapping and reporting for projects within the Accelerator/Connect portfolio. In addition, the Assistant Director will participate in the development of innovative strategies to enable better data integration across multiple domains within the City.

  • New Initiatives We are working on new initiatives that build upon existing products and our expertise areas, including reducing the burden on non-profits, facilitating data integration to improve social service performance, and easing access to services and programs.

  • ACCESS NYC, a website that allows New Yorkers to screen for eligibility for over 30 City, State, and Federal benefit programs. Depending on the benefit, residents can apply online, print out pre-populated application forms, and determine agency locations where they can go to directly apply for services.

  • HHS Accelerator is a transformational initiative to reengineer, simplify and speed the procurement process for City agencies and client and community based service organizations by implementing a series of policy reforms, restructuring of rules and regulations, centralizing portions of procurement oversights and building a web-based system to support these reforms to dramatically shift the City’s procurement of health and human services.

  • Worker Connect, a data sharing technology that allows case workers to see real-time information about clients drawn from multiple City sources. Users only access information that they have been authorized to view based on their role and all applicable laws and regulations.

    Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to understand their reporting needs, present them with various reporting options and guide them to the solution that best meets their needs.

    Perform data analysis and profiling of legacy and strategic source systems to assess data quality and identify issues, inconsistencies and missing data.

    Collaboration with ETL team and database administrators to implement the reporting platform design for business and program staff.

    Develop, update and maintain the conceptual, logical and physical data models best suited for existing and future reporting needs.

    Develop and maintain excellent documentation for reporting components such as data models, dictionaries, source-to-target mapping, ETL, reports..

    Support business analysis and development of reports either via SQL queries and/or an enterprise reporting tool such as OBIEE.

    Experience in modeling techniques and solutions in dimensional data models.

    Analytical assistance and supervision, including quantitative and qualitative data analysis, the evaluation of best practices, and the identification and assessment of operational improvement opportunities at different agencies.
